Starlink for Karnup homes and rural blocks

Karnup is part of the City of Rockingham, south of Baldivis along Mandurah Road, and it is still mostly rural: about 2,100 residents across roughly 32 square kilometres at the 2021 Census, with wineries such as Peel Estate Wines among its landmarks. The City's forecasts have the Karnup and Keralup area adding around 270 homes a year through to 2036, so new estates are arriving next to established rural properties.

That makes for two different kinds of Starlink job. Rural properties on larger blocks are where Starlink most often makes sense. In newer pockets the nbn is often already available or coming, so I will tell you straight if you are better off with that.

Rural blocks and new builds

On a new build, a roof mount is usually the tidy option and is best planned once the roof is on and before you move in, so the cable can be routed cleanly and the power point fitted where the router will sit. On rural blocks, a pole or shed mount is often the better choice.
